Where the Divine Arrow Quenched Veer Langoor's Thirst
Located just 1.5 km from Katra town, Ban Ganga is the historic threshold where the sacred trek truly commences. Legend recounts that the Mother Goddess shot an arrow (ban) into the earth to produce a gushing holy river (ganga) so her devotee Veer Langoor could quench his thirst, while the Goddess washed her holy hair.
