To assist senior citizens, expectant mothers, and differently-abled devotees, the Shrine Board operates quiet, zero-emission 7-seater electric battery cars on the scenic alternate track between Ardhkuwari and the Holy Bhawan (distance: 5.5 km).
Battery Car Operating Rules
- Operating Stretch: Ardhkuwari to Manokamana Bhawan (near Holy Cave) and return. Cars do NOT operate on the steep Katra-to-Ardhkuwari lower section.
- Fare: Highly subsidized rates (approx. INR 354 from Ardhkuwari to Bhawan and INR 236 for return downhill).
- Eligibility & Priority: Senior citizens (60+ years), ladies with infants, and physically challenged persons receive first preference.
- Booking Channels: Online advance quota on maavaishnodevi.org and offline current booking counters at Ardhkuwari and Manokamana Bhawan.
