24-Hour Continuous Darshan Protocols

Unlike many ancient temples that close their gates in the afternoon and overnight, the Holy Cave of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi remains open for Darshan almost 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Temple Aarti Closure Timings (No Darshan)

  • Morning Aarti Closure: Approximately 06:00 AM to 08:00 AM (exact time shifts slightly with sunrise). General Darshan is paused while chief priests perform the divine snan and shringar of the Holy Pindies.
  • Evening Aarti Closure: Approximately 06:30 PM to 08:30 PM (shifts with sunset). General Darshan resumes immediately after the conclusion of Aarti.
  • Optimal Hours for Rapid Darshan: Between 12:00 AM (Midnight) and 05:00 AM, and between 01:00 PM and 04:00 PM, when queue waiting times are lowest.
