Adhering to Sacred Sanctity and High Security
Because the Holy Shrine is a high-security zone protected by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Jammu & Kashmir Police, all pilgrims must undergo multiple rounds of physical frisking and metal-detector scanning.
List of Strictly Prohibited Items
- At Entrance Checkposts (Ban Ganga & Tarakote): Alcohol, narcotics, tobacco products, cigarettes, lighters, matchboxes, firearms, knives, and sharp cutting tools.
- Inside the Holy Cave Sanctum: Mobile phones, smartwatches, cameras, video recorders, tape recorders, laptops, power banks, pen drives, leather belts, wallets with metal clips, and shoes.
- Permitted Items on the Trek: Walking sticks, water bottles, small personal daypacks, prescription medicines, baby prams, and woolens.
